Twelve students from SMAN 1 Sukosari, Bondowoso, conducted an educational visit to the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Jember (UNEJ) as part of the co-curricular program “Study to Campus”. This visit aimed to provide students with a broader understanding of university life, particularly in the fields of social and political sciences.
The student group was warmly welcomed by the Dean and Vice Dean III of FISIP, as well as lecturers from the Social Welfare Study Program. In her welcoming speech, the Dean of FISIP UNEJ, Suyani Indriastuti, S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D., expressed her appreciation for SMAN 1 Sukosari’s initiative in enhancing educational quality through innovative co-curricular activities. She hoped that this visit would motivate students to pursue higher education.
During the visit, students participated in a series of engaging activities, including:
- Introduction to Study Programs: Students received in-depth information about the various study programs offered at FISIP UNEJ, such as State Administration, Sociology, International Relations, and Social Welfare.
- Lecture Simulation: Students had the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of university lectures by participating in simulated lectures guided by FISIP UNEJ lecturers and students.
- Discussion and Q&A: Students actively engaged in discussions and asked questions to lecturers and students about various aspects of university life, campus life, and career prospects in the fields of social and political sciences.
- Campus Facilities Tour: Students were taken on a tour to see the various facilities available at FISIP UNEJ, such as the library, laboratories, and lecture halls.
One of the student participants expressed great impression with the experience gained. He said that this visit had broadened his horizons about university life and motivated him to study harder in order to be accepted into his dream university.
This “Study to Campus” visit is a form of SMAN 1 Sukosari’s commitment to improving the quality of education and preparing students for future challenges. FISIP UNEJ welcomes this collaboration and hopes to continue fostering close relationships with various schools in the Bondowoso region and its surroundings.
