The International Relations (IR) Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Jember, has officially launched its inaugural scientific journal, named the “Indo-Pacific Journal of Soft Power (IPJSP).” The event, held from February 24-26, 2025, at the FISIP Universitas Jember Meeting Room, featured several speakers from the Journal Volunteers and Unej Journal House. This launch marks a significant milestone in the academic development of the study program, while also providing a platform for academics, researchers, and practitioners to publish high-quality scientific works in the field of International Relations.
The journal will be published biannually and will feature articles covering various critical issues in International Relations, such as foreign policy, international security, international political economy, diplomacy, and other global issues. The journal is expected to become a primary reference for those interested in International Relations studies in Indonesia and internationally.
In her address, the Head of the IR Study Program at Universitas Jember, Dra. Sri Yuniati, M.Si, stated that the establishment of this journal is part of the study program’s efforts to enhance the quality of research and scientific publications. She also emphasized the importance of this journal as a means to expand collaborative networks with academics and researchers from various institutions.
The process of establishing the IPJSP journal involved an editorial team consisting of lecturers and students in the field of International Relations. They are responsible for selecting and editing submitted articles, as well as ensuring the quality and relevance of the journal’s content. The journal also implements a rigorous peer-review system to maintain high academic standards.
The launch of the IPJSP journal received positive responses from various parties, including academics, researchers, and students. They hope that this journal can make a significant contribution to the development of International Relations studies in Indonesia and provide a platform for authors to publish innovative and high-quality works.
