The Sociology Department of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Jember held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to evaluate the curriculum and learning tools. The event was opened by the Dean of FISIP Universitas Jember and attended by the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, as well as lecturers from the Sociology Department. The resource persons in this activity were a team from the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) Universitas Jember, who provided presentations and guidance related to curriculum evaluation and the development of learning tools.
This FGD aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the existing curriculum, particularly in the application of case method and project-based learning. This evaluation is expected to provide input for improvements and the development of a curriculum that is more relevant to the needs of students and the development of sociological science.
FGD participants actively discussed and provided input regarding their experiences in applying these learning methods. The results of this FGD will serve as a basis for the Sociology Department to revise and improve the curriculum and learning tools, in order to enhance the quality of education and competent graduates.
This activity is part of FISIP Universitas Jember’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education and curriculum relevance to current developments. It is hoped that the results of this FGD can have a positive impact on the development of the Sociology Department and produce graduates who are ready to compete in the workforce.
