The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of the University of Jember (UNEJ) held a “halal bihalal” gathering on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the faculty hall. The event was attended by the entire FISIP academic community, including retired lecturers and education staff.
The central theme of the event was “Enhancing Human Resources Integrity in Strengthening the Integrity Zone (ZI) Towards a Corruption-Free Region (WBK) from a Clean and Serving Bureaucracy Region (WBBM).” This activity served as an important moment to strengthen camaraderie while affirming FISIP UNEJ’s commitment to realizing clean and serving governance.
The event commenced with a recitation of the Quran by Salsa Farah, a student from the Social Welfare Department who achieved national recognition as a Tartil champion. Dr. H. Suhermin Adul Muhaimin, S.Pd., M.Pd., was present as a keynote speaker. In his presentation, he emphasized three crucial aspects for enhancing the urgency of integrity as the primary foundation for building an Integrity Zone (ZI) that leads to the designations of a Corruption-Free Region (WBK) and a Clean and Serving Bureaucracy Region (WBBM). These aspects are: Spiritual intelligence, which involves self-restraint; emotional intelligence, manifested as patience in behavior; and intellectual intelligence, the ability to distinguish between good and bad. Dr. Suhermin also highlighted the importance of synergy and collaboration among all human resources within FISIP UNEJ to achieve these goals. The interactive discussion that followed the speaker’s presentation demonstrated the participants’ enthusiasm and seriousness in implementing integrity values in their daily work.
As a token of appreciation and respect for their dedication, FISIP UNEJ also presented awards to retired lecturers and education staff. The awards, in the form of certificates of honor for their contributions to the institution and gift packages, were handed over directly by the faculty leadership. This moment was deeply moving and heartwarming, illustrating the strong familial bonds that transcend generations within FISIP UNEJ. It is hoped that this “halal bihalal” event will not only be an annual tradition but also serve as a catalyst for renewed spirit in realizing FISIP UNEJ’s vision as a higher education institution with integrity that genuinely contributes to society.
