In an effort to equip students and prospective graduates to navigate the increasingly dynamic job market, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Jember successfully hosted a Career Center program. The career enrichment event, themed “Main Character Energy: Your Career, Your Rules,” took place over two days, from Saturday to Sunday, June 20–21, 2026, at the FISIP Auditorium, University of Jember. The event was enthusiastically received by hundreds of students across various study programs seeking to sharpen their career readiness at an early stage.

The theme “Main Character Energy: Your Career, Your Rules” was designed to foster a leadership mindset, self-confidence, and independence among students in mapping out their own career roadmaps. In the modern era, job seekers are required not only to possess strong academic qualifications, but also the clarity to recognize their self-potential, build robust personal branding, and take bold control of their professional trajectories. Through this concept, participants were encouraged to become proactive “main characters” in determining their futures.

Throughout the two-day event at the FISIP Auditorium, the agenda featured interactive sessions led by human resources (HR) practitioners, career consultants, and successful alumni. On the first day, sessions focused on identifying personal potential, crafting ATS-compliant CVs/resumes, and strategies for building a personal brand on professional platforms such as LinkedIn. Meanwhile, the second day featured mock job interviews, communication skills workshops, and actionable insights into navigating workplace culture dynamics across both corporate industries and government institutions.

The enthusiasm of the participants was evident in their active involvement during discussions, Q&A sessions, and direct career consultations with the speakers. This practical experience provided real-world insights into current workplace expectations, while alleviating uncertainties for FISIP UNEJ’s young graduates as they transition into the professional sphere. Additionally, the program served as an effective networking platform for students across various departments.

Through the organization of the 2026 Career Center program, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Jember demonstrated its commitment to supporting higher education Key Performance Indicators (IKU), particularly regarding graduate readiness to secure decent employment. It is hoped that the knowledge and motivation gained over the two-day training will serve as a valuable foundation for students to navigate their dream careers with confidence, adaptability, and resilience in the future.
