The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Jember (UNEJ) held a workshop for the preparation of its Strategic Business Plan (Renstrabis) for the 2025-2029 period. This important event took place on Monday, April 21, 2025, in the International Room of FISIP UNEJ, a strategically chosen location to facilitate productive discussions and collaboration.
The workshop was attended by faculty leaders, heads of study programs, lecturers, educational staff, and representatives from various units within FISIP UNEJ. The primary objective of this activity was to formulate a comprehensive and implementable Renstrabis document, which will guide the faculty’s strategic development over the next five years.
In his address, the Dean of FISIP UNEJ expressed his hope that the workshop would yield innovative and adaptive business strategies, responsive to the latest developments in social and political sciences and societal needs. He emphasized the importance of synergy and collaboration from all faculty elements in achieving FISIP UNEJ’s vision and mission. Notably, UNEJ had previously drafted its 2024-2029 Renstrabis with a focus on achieving excellence in the Industry 4.0 era. In contrast, the current 2024-2029 Renstrabis is geared towards becoming a world-class university, necessitating the internalization of programs and faculties to become world-class programs and world-class faculties.
The workshop’s discussion sessions were divided into several groups, each focusing on different aspects of faculty development. These included enhancing the quality of education and teaching, research and scientific publications, community service, partnership collaborations, and governance and resources. Participants actively contributed their input, ideas, and perspectives to formulate realistic and measurable strategic steps.
The workshop was dynamic and constructive, providing every participant an opportunity to contribute to the Renstrabis formulation. It is anticipated that the Renstrabis document resulting from this workshop will serve as a strong foundation for FISIP UNEJ to continue developing into an excellent and competitive faculty at both national and international levels. The activity ran throughout the day and concluded with the formulation of follow-up steps for the finalization of the Renstrabis document.
