JEMBER – The Diploma Program (D3) in Tourism Travel Business (UPW) at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), University of Jember, recently concluded an intensive four-day Curriculum Workshop. Held from November 12 to 15, 2025, at the FISIP International Room, the strategic event convened faculty leadership, vocational education experts, and industry practitioners to redefine the future of tourism education at the Tegalboto campus.
The workshop was prompted by significant shifts in the global tourism landscape, particularly the digital transformation of travel services and the rising demand for sustainable tourism. In their opening remarks, FISIP Unej leadership emphasized that vocational education must remain adaptive and responsive to market demands. Consequently, updating the curriculum is a vital step in ensuring that classroom instruction aligns with both national and international professional competency standards.
Throughout the four-day session, participants audited existing course structures to strengthen the “Link and Match” principle between academia and the Business and Industrial World (DUDI). Discussions focused heavily on integrating technology into tour and travel operations management and bolstering students’ entrepreneurial mindsets.
