The Student Activity Unit (UKM) for Professional Development and Islamic Studies (Profis) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Jember (UNEJ) recently organized another Personal Development Short Course. This two-day event, held from April 19-20, 2025, at the FISIP UNEJ Hall, attracted a number of enthusiastic students eager to develop their potential.
The Vice Dean III of FISIP UNEJ, representing the deanship, highly commended UKM Profis’s initiative in organizing such a beneficial activity for students’ capacity building within the institution. He emphasized the importance of personal development in preparing competent and competitive graduates for the current global era.
Furthermore, the Vice Dean III presented an intriguing challenge to UKM Profis: to organize a larger event involving the general public. He openly offered support for a sponsorship proposal to PT Djarum, with an estimated assistance budget of seven million rupiah. This challenge involves holding a public-scale acoustic competition, which is hoped to serve as a platform for creativity and entertainment for the wider community.
The Personal Development Short Course was also attended by the supervisor of UKM Profis, Dr. Selvy Helpiastuti, M.Si. Her presence provided motivation and strategic direction for the continuity of self-development programs initiated by UKM Profis. The support from both the faculty and the supervisor served as a positive energy for students to continue creating and making real contributions.
With the successful execution of the Personal Development Short Course and the exciting challenge from the Vice Dean III, UKM Profis FISIP UNEJ demonstrates its commitment to developing student potential and fostering positive synergy with external parties. The proposed acoustic competition is expected to be a concrete step in realizing this vision, as well as enhancing FISIP UNEJ’s reputation on a broader stage.
