The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Jember (UNEJ) held a socialization event for the 2025 General Election with the theme “Revitalizing Democracy.” Organized by the Student Election Commission (KPUM) of FISIP UNEJ, this event aimed to increase student participation and understanding of the democratic process within the campus environment. The activity took place on February 27, 2025, in the FISIP UNEJ Auditorium.

The socialization was opened by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni of FISIP UNEJ, who, in his speech, emphasized the importance of active student participation in every stage of the General Election. He also appreciated the initiative of KPUM FISIP UNEJ in organizing this educational and constructive event. “The General Election is a platform for students to express their aspirations and elect qualified leaders. Therefore, active participation from all students is highly expected,” he said.

The event was attended by hundreds of students from various departments at FISIP UNEJ. Participants enthusiastically followed the material presentations delivered by members of KPUM FISIP UNEJ. The socialization material included information on election procedures, the vision and mission of potential leaders, and the importance of maintaining integrity and transparency in the General Election process. Additionally, a discussion and Q&A session was held, where students could interact directly with the committee and ask questions or provide input.

The Head of KPUM FISIP UNEJ, on the occasion, stated that this socialization was one of the efforts to raise students’ political awareness and encourage active participation in the 2025 General Election. “We hope that through this socialization, students can better understand the importance of the General Election and use their voting rights wisely,” he said. He also added that KPUM FISIP UNEJ will continue to strive to organize activities that support the success of the 2025 General Election.

The socialization event concluded with a group photo session and the symbolic handover of General Election props to student representatives. The spirit of togetherness and student enthusiasm in welcoming the 2025 General Election were clearly visible at the event. It is hoped that the 2025 General Election can run smoothly, honestly, and fairly, and produce leaders who can take FISIP UNEJ in a better direction.
