Two alumni from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Jember have successfully attained strategic positions at the national level. Drs. Samsul Widodo, M.A. now serves as the Director-General for the Acceleration of Development in Disadvantaged Regions, while Dr. H. Abdul Syakur, S.Ag., M.Si. has been appointed as the Deputy for Partnership and Halal Standardization at the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency of Indonesia (BPJPHI).
The remarkable achievements of these two FISIP alumni from the University of Jember serve as clear evidence that graduates from this campus are able to compete at the national level and make significant contributions to the nation’s development. Samsul Widodo, with his background in political science, is expected to bring fresh perspectives to the acceleration of development in disadvantaged regions across Indonesia. Meanwhile, Abdul Syakur, with his expertise in religious and social affairs, will play a crucial role in ensuring that halal products in Indonesia meet the established standards.
The Rector of the University of Jember, Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng, IPM., expressed his pride in the accomplishments of the two FISIP alumni. “These achievements demonstrate that the quality of University of Jember graduates is on par with other leading universities in Indonesia. We hope that the success of these two alumni will serve as motivation for other students to continue striving for excellence,” said the Rector.
