The East Java High School/Vocational School Sociology Olympiad 2025 was officially opened today. This prestigious event, organized by the Sociology Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), University of Jember, was attended by high-achieving students from various schools in East Java, as well as academics from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) University of Jember.
As a sign of the start of the competition, the opening ceremony was marked by a warm welcome from the Dean of FISIP University of Jember, Suyani Indriastuti, S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D. In her speech, she expressed her highest appreciation to all participants who have shown great interest and enthusiasm in the field of sociology. Suyani also emphasized the importance of this competition as a forum to hone critical thinking skills, analyze social problems, and develop innovative solutions.
“This Sociology Olympiad is not just a competition, but also a forum for the younger generation to contribute to community development. I hope that through this event, participants can increasingly love sociology and become agents of change in the future,” said the Dean of FISIP University of Jember.
In addition to the Dean’s remarks, the opening ceremony was also enlivened by the presence of the ranks of study program coordinators within the FISIP University of Jember. Participants were also given the opportunity to get to know each other and exchange ideas with other participants.
The 2025 Sociology Olympiad will take place for 1 day, January 18, 2025, and will include various competitions. The winners will receive attractive prizes and the opportunity to continue their studies at the University of Jember.
