The Business Administration Study Program under the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Jember (UNEJ) underwent a comprehensive accreditation field assessment conducted by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) on Monday, April 7, 2026. Held at the FISIP International Room, the assessment aimed to evaluate the program’s academic quality standards, governance, and learning outcomes. This on-site evaluation serves as a crucial milestone following the program’s successful online submission of its self-evaluation documents and performance reports.
The BAN-PT assessor team, comprising two senior experts in business administration and public management, arrived at the venue at 08:00 AM WIB. They were formally welcomed by the Rector of the University of Jember, along with the Vice Rector I, the Dean and Vice Deans (I, II, and III) of FISIP, the Head of the Business Administration Study Program, as well as faculty members and administrative staff. In his opening remarks, the Rector emphasized that this assessment is a pivotal momentum to continuously elevate educational quality, particularly in responding to increasingly complex dynamics within the business and administrative sectors.
A Comprehensive Evaluation Process
The evaluation agenda encompassed a thorough review of academic documents, interviews with faculty members and students, and onsite observations of supporting facilities, including classrooms, business administration laboratories, the digital library, and the career center. Furthermore, the assessors conducted focused group discussions (FGD) with alumni and employers to evaluate the curriculum’s relevance to current industry demands. One of the assessors commended the program’s robust internal quality assurance system, highlighting its effective alumni tracking mechanism and strong corporate partnerships.
During the confirmation session, the assessor team provided several strategic recommendations, which included:
-
Strengthening applied research focused on social entrepreneurship.
-
Increasing student scientific publications in reputable journals.
The department management welcomed the feedback constructively, committing to immediately formulating a follow-up action plan. The Head of the Business Administration Study Program stated that the department is currently preparing competitive grant proposals and accelerating its strategy to achieve the “Unggul” (Excellent) accreditation status as its primary target.
The field assessment officially concluded at 04:00 PM WIB with the signing and handover of the assessment minutes from the assessor team to the faculty leadership. The final accreditation results from BAN-PT are expected to be announced within 14 working days. The academic community of FISIP UNEJ remains optimistic that this evaluation will elevate their current accreditation rank, serving as a powerful catalyst to continue innovating and producing highly competitive graduates in the field of business administration.
