The Sociology Study Program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), University of Jember (UNEJ), officially recorded a stellar achievement in early 2026. Following the latest decree issued by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Social, Political, Administrative, and Communication Sciences (LAMSPAK), the program successfully secured the prestigious “Excellent” (Unggul) accreditation status. This milestone marks a significant historical turning point, firmly establishing UNEJ’s Sociology program as one of the premier centers for social studies in the eastern region of East Java.
This success is the fruitful result of a rigorous field assessment conducted from January 26 to 27, 2026. Over the two-day visitation, a team of assessors from LAMSPAK carried out an in-depth verification of various dimensions, ranging from an adaptive curriculum and the research productivity of the faculty, to the availability of infrastructure supporting the academic ecosystem. Furthermore, active engagements between the assessors and students, alumni, as well as graduate employers served as a crucial factor, proving the program’s capability to produce human resources that align with contemporary global demands.
Dean of FISIP University of Jember, Suyani Indriastuti, S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D., warmly welcomed this achievement and expressed her highest appreciation to the entire academic community of FISIP for their hard work in exceeding national higher education standards. With the newly acquired “Excellent” status, the UNEJ Sociology Study Program now carries a profound moral mandate to continuously innovate in community service and expand its international collaboration networks. This accreditation is highly anticipated to inspire other study programs within the Tegalboto Campus to further elevate their quality toward world-class educational standards.
