The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Jember held a formal signing ceremony for employment contracts targeting Contract Faculty (Dosen Dewan Tugas) on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Convened at the FISIP UNEJ International Room, the event was attended by the faculty’s executive leadership and all relevant academic staff. This agenda marks a crucial milestone in aligning educators’ visions with the university’s strategic targets for the current academic year.
This employment contract serves as a direct derivative of the performance contract previously established between the Dean of FISIP and the Rector of the University of Jember. Through this synchronization, every performance metric mandated to the dean at the university level is now specifically distributed into the primary duties and functions of the faculty members. This strategic step was implemented to ensure that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved collectively and measurably.
In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP emphasized that these contracts are not merely administrative formalities, but rather a tangible commitment to elevating the quality of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi). Faculty members are expected to optimize research outputs, community service initiatives, and teaching methodologies that adapt to contemporary developments. The choice of the International Room as the venue symbolises the faculty’s drive to boost its competitiveness on the global stage.
Beyond instructional responsibilities, the contract clauses heavily emphasize accelerating scientific publications in reputable journals and increasing faculty involvement in international projects. Through this structured framework, the faculty aims to provide comprehensive support for lecturers to attain these benchmarks. This initiative aligns with the University of Jember’s broader ambition to continuously solidify its standing as a premier educational institution in Indonesia.
The event concluded with a formal and optimistic symbolic signing session. With the ratification of these agreements, all academic components within FISIP UNEJ now possess a clear operational roadmap for the upcoming year. This synergy between leadership and teaching staff is anticipated to drive positive transformation for student advancement and enhance the faculty’s academic reputation in the future.
