The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) has launched a comprehensive strategic initiative aimed at elevating its academic quality, strengthening institutional governance, and significantly boosting graduate competitiveness. Central to this overhaul is the meticulous formulation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) documents. This involves generating comprehensive policies, standards, manuals, forms, and extended criteria designed to align perfectly with both national regulations and rigorous accreditation standards.

To ensure seamless execution, the faculty is prioritizing the alignment of academic quality perceptions across all working units, lecturers, and faculty leadership, particularly regarding quality standards for learning activities conducted outside the core study programs. In tandem with these standards, FISIP is establishing clear guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for independent internships, built upon robust collaborations with government ministries and external corporate partners.

“Our goal is to create a transparent, accountable, and highly competitive academic ecosystem that bridges the gap between campus learning and industry needs.”

Furthermore, FISIP is actively strengthening its institutional governance by restructuring its organizational framework and updating faculty profiles to ensure maximum transparency and accountability. A pivotal component of this structural refinement is the integration of the Vision, Mission, Objectives, and Strategies (VMTS) for the 2021–2025 period. This integration is solidified by the publication of the UPPS VMTS formulation report and official decrees, which will serve as the primary roadmap for faculty development. To ensure these core values resonate throughout the institution, the faculty is conducting extensive internalization campaigns, supported by socialization reports and comprehensive surveys to measure VMTS comprehension among the academic community.

To maintain research excellence, the faculty is strictly evaluating the alignment of its research and community service initiatives—the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridarma)—with the established FISIP 2021–2025 roadmap. By establishing coordinative and participatory forums, FISIP aims to foster a unified, collective commitment among the entire academic community to implement quality-oriented, cross-study program learning. Ultimately, these synergistic efforts are carefully tailored to enrich student competencies, ensuring that future graduates are highly competitive and readily equipped to meet the evolving demands of society and the modern workforce.
