JEMBER – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Jember (UNEJ) successfully convened a prestigious academic forum, the International Conference on Multidisciplinary Issues (INCOMI), on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Held at the FISIP UNEJ Assembly Hall, the conference centered on the pivotal theme: “Governing the Future: Collaboration, Innovation, and Sustainability for 2045.”

The event was officially inaugurated by the Rector of the University of Jember, Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN Eng., alongside the Dean of FISIP UNEJ, Suyani Indriastuti, S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D. In her opening remarks, Dean Indriastuti emphasized the critical role of cross-disciplinary collaboration in addressing global challenges leading up to 2045.

Global Expertise and Governance

INCOMI 2025 featured a distinguished panel of experts representing four nations. Serving as the keynote speaker, Dr. Muhammad Taufiq, DEA., Head of the National Institute of Public Administration (LAN RI), delivered a comprehensive presentation on bureaucratic readiness and governance strategies essential for achieving long-term national visions.

The plenary session further expanded on these themes with insights from three international scholars:

  • Dr. Suyatno Ladiqi, M.A., Ph.D. from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) attended in person to share his expertise on regional development.
  • Bakhouya Driss from the Faculty of Law at Adrar University, Algeria, joined the forum virtually.
  • Vuong Le Hong, Ph.D. from Van Hien University, Vietnam, contributed his international perspective via an online platform.

The hybrid format sparked high engagement among attendees, which included academics, researchers, and practitioners from various sectors.

Advancing Academic Innovation

Demonstrating a commitment to the advancement of knowledge, the research and ideas presented at INCOMI are slated for broad dissemination. The organizing committee confirmed that selected scientific papers will be published through three prestigious channels: Atlantis Press, accredited national journals, and international proceedings.

This initiative underscores FISIP UNEJ’s position as a catalyst for academic innovation with a globally recognized impact.
