Jember, Indonesia – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Jember (Unej) officially held a welcoming ceremony for new students of the 2025/2026 academic year. The solemn and enthusiastic event, held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, marked the beginning of academic life for hundreds of students who successfully enrolled in various study programs within FISIP Unej.
The welcoming ceremony was attended by the full leadership of FISIP Unej, including the Dean, who was accompanied by the Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs, Vice Dean II for General and Financial Affairs, and Vice Dean III for Student and Alumni Affairs. Their presence underscored the faculty’s full commitment to welcoming and guiding the new generation of intellectuals.
This year, the undergraduate (S1) program at FISIP Unej welcomed a total of 751 new students. The International Relations and Business Administration study programs each accepted 159 students. The Public Administration program welcomed 158 students, followed by the Social Welfare program with 153 students, and the Sociology program with 141 new students.
In addition to the undergraduate programs, the vocational or diploma programs also welcomed a new class of students. The D3 Taxation program accepted 65 students who will be trained to become competent taxation experts. Meanwhile, the D3 Travel Business (UPW) program welcomed 60 new students, who are ready to be groomed into professionals for the national and international tourism industry.
The event was also attended by the Study Program Coordinators, the Head of the Quality Assurance Cluster (GPM), Laboratory Heads, and advisors for Student Organizations (Ormawa) and Student Associations, creating a familial atmosphere. This ceremony is expected to be the starting point for 895 new students to begin their academic journey, achieve academically, be active in student organizations, and eventually become proud graduates who contribute to society and their alma mater.
