Jember University’s Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) held a joint morning exercise session for all its academic community on Friday, August 1, 2025. The event, which took place in the main courtyard of the FISIP building, not only aimed to improve physical fitness but also to strengthen the bond between lecturers and staff. The togetherness was further enhanced by a socialization session from PT. Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), Tbk., specifically its Jember University Sub-Branch Office (KCP).
The event, which started at 7:00 AM WIB, was met with high enthusiasm. Participants eagerly followed every move guided by a professional fitness instructor. The friendly and jovial atmosphere highlighted the event’s success as a way to de-stress from academic routines and build a more solid interaction outside of classrooms and offices. In her speech, FISIP Dean, Suyani Indriastuti, S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between physical health and work productivity.
“Health is our most valuable asset. Through routine activities like this, we want to create a work and learning environment that is not only intellectually healthy but also physically healthy,” said Suyani. She also added that collaborating with external partners such as BSI is a strategic step to provide added value to all FISIP members, this time touching on the aspect of Islamic financial literacy.
After the refreshing workout session, the event continued with a socialization session from the BSI KCP Jember University team. BSI introduced various featured products and services relevant to the needs of the academic community, ranging from the ease of digital transactions through BSI Mobile, education savings products, to sharia-based financing solutions. The head of BSI KCP Jember University expressed his commitment to continue supporting the educational ecosystem on campus.
This joint event served as tangible evidence of a positive synergy between the world of education and the banking industry. Participants not only left with a fitter body but also with new insights into sharia financial services that can support their various needs. It is hoped that such collaborative activities can continue in the future to strengthen the partnership and provide wider benefits for both parties.
