The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Jember held a socialization event for the Student Entrepreneurship Support Program (P2MW) to identify and nurture young entrepreneurial talent among its students. Held at the FISIP UNEJ Conference Room on March 4, 2026, the event drew dozens of students eager to develop their business ventures. This initiative serves as a strategic step by the faculty to support the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy, particularly within its entrepreneurship pillar.
The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni of FISIP UNEJ, Dr. Edy Wahyudi, S.Sos., MM. In his opening remarks, Dr. Wahyudi emphasized the importance of fostering a creative mindset and economic independence among students from an early stage. He expressed hope that through this program, FISIP students would not only excel academically and organizationally but also remain competitive in job creation by leveraging the mentorship grants provided by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology’s P2MW program.
Following the opening remarks, Panca Oktawrani, Ph.D., representing the FISIP UNEJ Student Achievement Acceleration Team, delivered a session on the faculty’s vital role in supporting the student entrepreneurial ecosystem. She reaffirmed the faculty’s full commitment to facilitating all administrative needs and technical guidance required by the students. The primary focus is to guide students through the research and development process, ensuring that their products possess high utility and can be readily accepted by the broader public.
The highlight of the event featured an expert speaker, Marcus Apriono, from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), University of Jember. In his presentation, Apriono dissected practical strategies for drafting competitive business proposals and shared tips on managing university-level startups. He provided insights into current market trends, advising students to look beyond basic production and instead identify market opportunities and societal issues that can be solved through their business innovations.
Through sustained institutional support, FISIP UNEJ aims to significantly increase student entrepreneurship participation this year and propel its student teams to secure national funding.
The socialization event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, during which enthusiastic participants consulted the speakers regarding their ongoing business ideas. Through this initiative, FISIP UNEJ aims to significantly increase the percentage of students involved in entrepreneurship this year. Continued support from the faculty is expected to propel FISIP’s entrepreneurial teams to secure national funding and achieve prestigious milestones.
