The Sociology Study Program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), University of Jember (UNEJ), successfully completed a crucial two-day field assessment for its program accreditation. Held from January 26 to 27, 2026, the evaluation was centered in the International Room of FISIP UNEJ. This evaluation process marks a strategic milestone for the faculty in ensuring educational quality and maintaining the relevance of the sociology curriculum amid evolving social dynamics.
The opening ceremony was attended directly by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni of the University of Jember, Dr. Fendi Setyawan, S.H., M.H., alongside the executive board of the faculty deanship and lecturers from the Sociology Study Program. In his opening remarks, Dr. Setyawan emphasized that accreditation is far more than a mere administrative routine; rather, it reflects the university’s profound commitment to producing competent graduates of high integrity. The presence of the university’s executive leadership underscores UNEJ’s full support for elevating accreditation standards across FISIP.
The Independent Accreditation Agency for Social, Political, Administrative, and Communication Sciences (LAMSPAK) dispatched two expert assessors to conduct data verification and on-site reviews. The assessment team comprised Prof. Dr. Mochamad Sodik, S.Sos., M.Si. from Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University and Dr. Yunindyawati, S.Sos., M.Si. from Sriwijaya University. Both assessors conducted a comprehensive evaluation of various dimensions, ranging from curriculum standards and infrastructural adequacy to the academic achievements of both students and faculty members.
Over the two-day agenda, the accreditation team held in-depth interviews with various stakeholders, including lecturers, students, alumni, and graduate employers. The discussions, which took place in the International Room, were interactive and constructive. The assessors provided valuable insights regarding the development of sociological research that is rooted in local wisdom yet remains highly competitive on a global scale.
