The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Jember (UNEJ) recently held a significant event to formulate its Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives (VMGO) for the year 2025. This initiative brought together a wide array of key stakeholders, including lecturers, educational staff, students, relevant external partners, and alumni. This strategic move is a direct response to UNEJ’s new VMGO, which is sharply focused on achieving world-class university status. FISIP is committed to translating the university’s overarching vision into the specific context of social and political sciences, while diligently maintaining its unique identity.
The VMGO formulation event was a vibrant occasion, marked by the strong presence of diverse alumni, both in person and virtually via Zoom. The alumni attending represented various prominent backgrounds, ranging from regional heads and officials serving abroad to individuals holding strategic positions in various institutions. Their presence offered invaluable perspectives and constructive input, critically shaping the future direction of FISIP. Intensive and collaborative discussions characterized each session, ensuring that the resulting VMGO truly reflects the aspirations and needs of every faculty element.
As a direct outcome of this collaborative effort, FISIP UNEJ has adopted a new slogan: “DYNAMIC, INNOVATIVE, HARMONIOUS.” This slogan is intended to ignite a new spirit among the entire FISIP academic community as they work to achieve and realize the 2025 VMGO. “DYNAMIC” signifies FISIP’s ability to adapt to the ever-changing times; “INNOVATIVE” underscores its commitment to continuously develop relevant teaching and research methods; and “HARMONIOUS” emphasizes the vital importance of cooperation and collegiality within the faculty environment. With this new VMGO and renewed spirit, FISIP UNEJ is optimistic it will make a significant contribution to UNEJ’s transformation into a world-class university.
