Jember – More than 90 students filled the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Hall at the University of Jember (UNEJ) on Friday, March 14, 2025, to attend a national seminar titled “QUO VADIS: Budget Efficiency Policy of the Prabowo Regime.” The seminar addressed the crucial issue of budget cuts and efficiency policies implemented across various sectors, particularly in academia, under the new administration.
The event featured three competent speakers: Fadillah Putra, S.Sos, Paff. Ph.D (Lecturer at FIA, Brawijaya University), Dr. Umar Sholahudin, M.Sosio (Lecturer at Wijaya Kusuma University Surabaya), and Dr. Suji, S.Sos., M.Si (Lecturer at FISIP UNEJ and event PIC).
This seminar is expected to foster critical thinking and constructive ideas from students, as key stakeholders in academia. According to Dr. Suji, “Budget efficiency policies must be balanced with an increase in the quality and effectiveness of budget utilization. Students, as the nation’s next generation, need to be actively involved in overseeing and providing input on this policy.”
