JEMBER – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Jember (UNEJ) has reaffirmed its commitment to human resource development by conducting a Professional Competency Assessment (UKOM) for its entire administrative staff. The milestone event took place on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the FISIP UNEJ International Room.

To ensure rigorous evaluation, the faculty partnered with the Universal Human Resources Management Professional Certification Body (LSP), a highly regarded institution specializing in professional competency standards.

A Strategic Partnership for Excellence

The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from both institutions. Representing FISIP UNEJ, the Dean and faculty leadership expressed their full endorsement of the initiative. The LSP Universal delegation, led by the head of the institution, arrived with three professional assessors tasked with conducting comprehensive evaluations.

The assessment covered a broad spectrum of administrative and technical functions. The objective is to ensure that staff members perform their duties not merely as routine tasks, but in strict accordance with nationally recognized professional standards.

Driving Institutional and Individual Growth

The resulting professional certificates carry significant strategic value for both the employees and the institution:

  • For Staff Members: The certification serves as formal recognition of their expertise. It enhances their professional standing, unlocks advanced career opportunities, and fosters a culture of continuous performance improvement.
  • For FISIP UNEJ: Having a certified workforce serves as a key indicator of Good Faculty Governance. This initiative strengthens the institution’s reputation, supports the pursuit of “Excellent” accreditation, and ensures that academic and support services effectively uphold the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Triple Pillars of Higher Education).

By implementing this competency test, FISIP UNEJ has taken a proactive step toward establishing a professional work environment that meets global standards.
