JEMBER – The culmination of the New Student Admission event (PPMB) for the 2025/2026 Academic Year at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Jember University (Universitas Jember), was celebrated with a spectacular arts performance held in the faculty yard. The event, themed “Temcy Generation: Smart, Resilient, and Cultured,” successfully captivated hundreds of students, lecturers, and educational staff. This art performance served as the closing ceremony for the entire series of the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) activities, which had been ongoing since late August.
The artistic showcase featured a variety of creative performances by both new students and student activity units (UKM), ranging from traditional dance, modern dance, theatrical acts, to acoustic music. One performance that drew particular attention was a dance blending traditional movements with contemporary styles, highlighting the richness of Indonesian culture alongside the students’ creativity. An atmosphere of joy and strong camaraderie was evident throughout the event, with the FISIP yard decorated with colorful lights and Nusantara-themed decorations.
The event was also attended by faculty and university officials, who expressed their appreciation for the students’ enthusiasm and creativity. In his address, the Dean of FISIP emphasized the importance of arts and culture as an integral part of shaping student character, fostering not only academic intelligence but also empathy and cultural awareness. “Art teaches us to feel, appreciate, and be in solidarity. These values are essential for future leaders,” he stated.
