JEMBER – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Jember University has reinforced its commitment to social entrepreneurship development by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Imaji Sociopreneur. The strategic collaboration was officially sealed on Monday, September 15, 2025, in the International Room of FISIP Jember University, marked by the document signing between the Dean of FISIP Jember University and the Director of Imaji Sociopreneur.
This collaboration is focused on creating an integrative social entrepreneurship ecosystem between the academic world and practitioners. The scope of the MoU covers the implementation of independent study and internship programs for students, the development of social entrepreneurship curriculum and training modules, as well as solution-based research and community service. This initiative aligns with the Kampus Merdeka (Independent Campus) vision to encourage students to hone their skills outside the classroom.
The Dean of FISIP Jember University, in his address, stated that this partnership is a concrete step to address global challenges. “The MoU with Imaji Sociopreneur is not merely a formality. It is a bridge for FISIP students to directly engage, identify social problems, and create businesses that provide a positive impact on society. We aim to produce graduates who are not just job seekers, but empathetic job creators,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, the representative from Imaji Sociopreneur expressed their enthusiasm. “Our organization is dedicated to community empowerment through a sustainable business approach. Collaborating with FISIP Jember University, which possesses strength in social and political sciences, will enrich perspectives and strengthen the impact of our programs. This synergy between theory and practice will give birth to more mature and measurable social innovations,” they explained.
The signing of the MoU concluded with a panel discussion featuring successful young sociopreneurs mentored by Imaji Sociopreneur, offering direct inspiration to the hundreds of attending students. It is hoped that this collaboration will not only produce competent academics and social entrepreneurs but also serve as a model for other faculties in building meaningful and sustainable partnerships with the industry for the benefit of the wider community.
