Two outstanding students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Jember University (UNEJ), Isma Vahro Faraida Kurniawan and Shalin, have achieved a remarkable national-level accomplishment. They secured 3rd place in the Essay Competition at the ALSA English Fair 2025, an event organized by the Faculty of Law (FH) at Airlangga University (UNAIR). This success serves as a clear testament to the skills and competitiveness of UNEJ students on the national stage, particularly in the field of academic writing in English.

The students earned this distinction with their essay titled “Perspectives On Legal And Civil Protection For Victims Of Revenge Porn In The Digital Era.” The topic they addressed is highly relevant and crucial in today’s digital age, focusing on legal and civil protection for victims of revenge porn. Isma and Shalin, both International Relations students, presented an in-depth analysis and a comprehensive perspective. Their achievement not only reflects their strong command of the English language but also their sensitivity to pressing social and legal issues. The competition is widely regarded as one of Indonesia’s most prestigious student events, testing participants’ English language proficiency, reasoning skills, and ability to write high-quality essays.

The ALSA English Fair is an annual event hosted by the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA) Local Chapter at Airlangga University. This event has become a platform for students from various Indonesian universities to showcase their talents and abilities in a variety of English language competitions. This victory not only brings recognition to FISIP and UNEJ but also serves as an inspiration for other students to continue creating and excelling. Isma and Shalin’s achievement proves that UNEJ students have great potential to compete and excel at both national and international levels.
