The Business Administration Study Program, part of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Jember University (Unej), recently took a significant step to improve the quality of its education by holding a “2024 KPT-Based Curriculum Evaluation and Redesign Workshop.” This event, which focused on creating an adaptive and impactful higher education program, was a direct response to the evolving dynamics of the professional world and the latest academic developments.
The workshop was officially opened by the Dean of FISIP Unej, Suyani Indriastuti, S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D. In her opening remarks, she stressed the importance of a relevant curriculum, calling it the “heart of the educational process” for producing competent and competitive graduates. The workshop demonstrated the faculty’s full commitment to continuous improvement, evidenced by the presence of the Vice Deans I, II, and III, as well as the active participation of students.
To ensure a deep and high-quality discussion, the workshop featured a series of experts. Moh. Miftahul Munir, S.AB., M.Si., and Prof. Dr. Naili Farida, M.Si., provided academic and practical insights on developing a curriculum that aligns with both national standards and industry needs. Their contributions formed the primary foundation for evaluating the existing curriculum.
The forum also benefited from the perspective of Dr. Dian Kurniati, S.Pd., M.Pd., who shared her views on pedagogy and effective curriculum implementation. The presence of representatives from the Indonesian Business Administration Association (AIABI) was also crucial, as it bridged the academic world with a professional association, ensuring the new curriculum would align with the expectations of practitioners.
This collaboration among academics, practitioners, and professional associations is expected to produce a curriculum framework that is not only theoretically sound but also highly practical. The students in attendance were given the opportunity to voice their aspirations, ensuring that the new curriculum will address the needs and challenges they will face after graduation.
Through this workshop, the Business Administration Study Program at FISIP Unej hopes to launch an innovative and relevant 2024 curriculum capable of producing outstanding human resources. This initiative is part of the university’s long-term vision to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of science and the broader community.
