The Social Welfare Science (IKS) Study Program within the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Jember University (UNEJ) has proudly achieved “Excellent” accreditation. This prestigious ranking was awarded directly by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), as stated in the Executive Board Director’s Decree No. 6776/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/S/VI/2025, issued in Jakarta on June 14, 2025. This accomplishment underscores the IKS Study Program’s commitment to delivering high-quality and relevant education.

BAN-PT’s decision to grant “Excellent” accreditation to UNEJ’s IKS program followed a comprehensive evaluation of various aspects. These included the curriculum, faculty quality, learning facilities, research initiatives, community service programs, and the relevance of graduates in the professional world. The accreditation process involved an independent team of assessors who thoroughly reviewed all components supporting the program’s operation, ensuring optimal compliance with higher education quality standards.

This “Excellent” accreditation serves as tangible proof of the dedication of the entire academic community of the IKS Study Program at FISIP UNEJ, from the faculty leadership and program coordinator to the lecturers, administrative staff, and students. The hard work and close synergy in developing the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education: Education, Research, and Community Service) were key factors in this success. Continuous quality improvement has been a top priority to produce competent and competitive graduates.

With this “Excellent” accreditation status, the Social Welfare Science Study Program at FISIP UNEJ is now in a stronger position to continue developing and making tangible contributions to society. The trust bestowed by BAN-PT will motivate the program to not only maintain but also continuously enhance its quality standards. This is expected to attract more high-caliber prospective students and expand collaboration opportunities with various parties.

The accreditation certificate for the Social Welfare Science Study Program is valid from June 14, 2025, to June 14, 2030. This five-year period provides an opportunity for UNEJ’s IKS program to continue innovating and adapting to the evolving dynamics of social needs. Moving forward, the IKS Study Program is committed to producing graduates who are not only academically excellent but also possess high social sensitivity and are capable of becoming agents of change within society.
