Jember – Universitas Jember (UNEJ) received a visit from a team of assessors from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) to evaluate the accreditation application for the master’s program in public administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). The visit, which took place on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the FISIP International Room, was attended directly by the UNEJ Rector, Dr. Ir. Iwan Taruna, M.Eng., IPM., the First Vice Rector, Prof., Drs. Slamin, M.Comp.Sc., Ph.D., and the Third Vice Rector, Dr. Fendy Setyawan, S.H., M..H., as well as the FISIP UNEJ deanate officials, including the Dean of FISIP, Suyani Indriastuti, S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D., the First Vice Dean, Drs. Joko Mulyono, M.Si., and the Third Vice Dean, Dr. Edy Wahyudi, S.Sos., M.M., along with the heads of departments and program coordinators, lecturers in the Master’s Program in Public Administration.

The assessment team for this visit consisted of Dr. Ardiyan Saptawan, M.Si. from Sriwijaya University and Yogi Suprayogi Sugandi, S.Sos., MA., Ph.D., from Padjajaran University. The presence of the assessment team aimed to evaluate various aspects of the study program, ranging from the curriculum, the quality of lecturers, facilities and infrastructure, to the program’s outputs.

In his remarks, the UNEJ Rector expressed his appreciation for the visit of the BAN-PT assessment team. “We hope that through this visit, the Master’s Program in Public Administration can obtain accreditation that is commensurate with the quality that has been achieved,” said Iwan Taruna.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the FISIP Universitas Jember, Suyani Indriastuti, explained that thorough preparations had been made to face this visit. “We have made every effort to meet all the requirements set by BAN-PT,” she said.

During the visit, the assessment team conducted various activities, such as interviews with university leaders, deans, program heads, lecturers, students, and alumni. In addition, the assessment team also examined documents related to the study program and conducted direct observations of the available facilities.

The results of this visit will be the basis for BAN-PT in making a decision regarding the accreditation of the UNEJ Master’s Program in Public Administration. It is hoped that this study program can obtain good accreditation so as to further improve the quality of higher education at UNEJ.
