The International Relations (IR) Department, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Jember (UNEJ), successfully held a guest lecture entitled “Strengthening Nationalism Through the Revitalization of Pancasila Values to Counter Global Threats to Global Security”. The event featured a distinguished speaker, Bambang Darmono, who discussed the importance of Pancasila values in facing increasingly complex global challenges.
In his presentation, the speaker emphasized that Pancasila, as the foundation of the Indonesian state, possesses noble values that are highly relevant to the current world situation. Values such as just and civilized humanity, Indonesian unity, and democracy led by the wisdom of deliberation/representation can serve as a bulwark for the Indonesian nation in the face of various global threats, ranging from radicalism and terrorism to national disintegration.
The guest lecture participants, consisting of UNEJ IR students, enthusiastically attended the event. They were invited to reflect on the deep meaning of each precept of Pancasila and how these values can be implemented in everyday life. In addition, the participants were also invited to discuss the challenges of revitalizing Pancasila values in the era of globalization.
The Dean of the FISIP UNEJ, in his remarks, expressed his appreciation for the successful holding of this guest lecture. He hoped that similar events could continue to be held to enhance the understanding of students and the public regarding the importance of Pancasila values in maintaining the unity and integrity of the nation and state.
The guest lecture concluded with a question-and-answer session that further enriched the participants’ understanding of the topic discussed. The participants expressed their hope that Pancasila values would continue to inspire the younger generation in building a better Indonesia in the future.
