The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Jember (UNEJ) is currently initiating a strategic partnership with the Jember Fashion Carnival (JFC). This step aims to enrich the academic experience of students and enhance the quality of the JFC event.

The Dean of FISIP UNEJ, Suyani Indriastuti, S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D., stated that this collaboration will provide many benefits for both parties. “FISIP students have great potential to contribute to various aspects of JFC, from research, event planning, to promotion. On the other hand, JFC can be a real laboratory for students to apply the knowledge they have learned,” she said.

Some forms of cooperation being explored include internships for students, joint research, and the development of curricula integrated with the creative industry. “We hope that this collaboration can be a model of successful collaboration between universities and the creative industry in Indonesia,” added Suyani.

Meanwhile, JFC representatives welcomed this cooperation initiative. “JFC is always open to collaboration with various parties, especially with educational institutions such as FISIP UNEJ. We believe this collaboration will add value to JFC and the wider community,” they said.

The collaboration between FISIP UNEJ and JFC is expected to be the first step in the development of the creative industry in Jember and its surroundings. By combining academic strengths and industry experience, it is hoped that high-value and competitive creative works can be produced at the national and international levels.
