In the recently concluded prestigious Tourism Olympics, students from SMK 2 Blitar and SMKN 2 Kediri achieved remarkable achievements. They successfully dominated two main categories, namely Tour Planning and Tour Guiding. The olympiad, held on October 12, 2024, in the International Room of the FISIP Universitas Jember, was participated by SMKN Kepanjen Malang, SMKN 2 Kediri, SMKN 2 Blitar, SMKN 1 Jember, SMKN 3 Jember, and SMK Puger.
In the Tour Planning category, the top three positions were secured by Sagita Nur Agustina (SMK 2 Blitar) as the first winner, followed by Meynanda Reny Cahyantari (SMKN 2 Kediri) in second place, and Niken Agustinitiyas (SMKN 2 Blitar) in third place. Their ability to design attractive and effective travel itineraries proved to be superior to other participants.
Meanwhile, in the Tour Guiding category, students from SMKN 2 Blitar also demonstrated their dominance. The first place was won by Bilqis Jamilatul with a score of 99.0. Followed by Gifara Azmi H. from SMKN 2 Kediri who achieved a score of 97.3 and Shyntia Dwi Y. from SMKN 2 Blitar with a score of 96.7. Their ability to deliver information about tourist destinations in an engaging and convincing manner impressed the judges.
The outstanding achievements of students from SMK 2 Blitar and SMKN 2 Kediri prove that the Indonesian younger generation has great potential in the tourism field. Hopefully, this achievement can inspire other students to continue developing their interests and talents in the same field.
