On Thursday, June 6, 2024, the Student Association of the Social Welfare Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya (UWKS), conducted a comparative study visit to the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Jember (UNEJ). This activity aimed to establish relationships and cooperation between the Social Welfare study programs of the two universities, as well as to form a higher-quality student association.
The series of activities began with preparations for the departure from Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya to Universitas Jember. Upon arrival at Universitas Jember, the participants were directed to the main room to attend the opening ceremony. The event was opened with welcoming remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Jember, Dr. Djoko Poernomo, M.Si., CIQnR., CSBA, and the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya, Dr. Mangihut Siregar, M.Si. One of the highlights of the event was the signing of an MOU between the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UWKS, and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UNEJ, as well as between the Social Welfare Study Program, UWKS, represented by Dr. Sugeng Pujileksono, M.Si., and the Social Welfare Study Program, UNEJ, represented by Dr. Mahfudz Sidiq, M.M. The exchange of gifts between the two institutions further added to the festive atmosphere of the event.
After the opening ceremony, the lecturers and staff from both universities held a separate discussion session, while the Student Associations from both universities also held a separate discussion session. In this discussion session, the Chairperson of the Social Welfare Student Association, UNEJ, Elita Osyefani, and the Chairperson of the Social Welfare Student Association, UWKS, Mayshawa Briliana, delivered their remarks. In addition, the divisions of the Student Associations from both universities introduced themselves and shared information about their organizational systems and work programs. The event was also filled with various games aimed at strengthening relationships between participants from both universities.
