Jesper Kaulvmann, an expatriate from Denmark who is also a Senior Researcher at the University of Jember, gave a lecture on Creative Tourism. As a lecturer with a D.Phil degree, he has traveled to 55 countries, and has rich experience working with dental practitioners in Denmark, UK, Botswana and Greenland. Other areas of expertise include social welfare formation and the sharing and integration of immigrants into local communities and community well-being. These experiences provide positive references for the transfer of experience and knowledge, especially in the field of tourism.
This makes Jesper one of the lecturers who teaches Creative Tourism in the DIII Travel Business Study Program, FISIP, University of Jember. Lecture activities held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, located in the Hall Room lt. 2, FISIP, University of Jember which was attended by dozens of students. On this occasion, Jesper presented an interesting theme, namely “Tourism from the perspective of a Dane”. Some things that can be taken from Jesper’s presentation, namely:
What do I like about travelling:
- Meeting people
- Senses the atmosphere of a place
- Exploring rural areas and nature
- “Being on the road”
- All my belongs fit into a backpack
- Feel far away from home.
What I do not like when travelling:
- Big cities, particularly in South East Asia and Africa.
- Places with many tourists.
- Meeting stupid tourists.
- Complain tourist.
What I do not like when travelling:
- Unclean facilities
- People pushing me to buy things or visit certain places
- People thinking that I cannot manage on my own
How do I travel: transportation:
- I travel by bus or train
- If possible I hitch hike
- I never travel 1st class or with special tourist buses.
- Bicycle holiday
How do I travel: accommodation:
- camping
- Hostels
- Cheap hotels
- Never International hotels (Cannot afford it adn I do not like it)
