STUDY PROGRAM PROFILE

Overview of the Study Program

In its learning, the social welfare study program has a scientific scope:

  • Theoretical concepts in the field of social welfare manifested by being able to analyze social problems and social issues based on these theoretical concepts.
  • Social interventions at the micro and macro levels, in the context of community empowerment and development

Vision

As an organizer of Higher Education in the field of applied science that produces professional Social Welfare Science graduates and has academic insight and is able to develop the task of analyzing and empowering communities and handling social problems conceptually, holistically, operationally, and is able to apply it in society.

Mission

  1. Organizing quality higher education in the field of Social Welfare Science
  2. Develop and carry out research and community service through the application and analysis of Social Welfare Science to various dynamic social phenomena and problems..

Goals

  1. Producing social welfare graduates who have high academic quality, are rational, uphold the principles of science in general, and are virtuous and skilled in their fields.
  2. Producing social welfare graduates who are able to compete in the job market and create their own jobs.
  3. Producing scientific works and their applications through education and teaching, research, and community service activities.
  4. Forming a normative academic life that is based on scientific attitudes, objective, honest, open, critical, innovative, and mutual self-evaluation and upholds the values of truth.
  5. Realizing professionalization, efficiency, and effectiveness of work in the institutional system, especially at the department level and generally at the faculty/university level.
  6. Realizing academic services that are practical and provide satisfaction to customers and foster mutually beneficial cooperation with other institutions, both within the scope of the University of Jember and outside the University of Jember.

Social Policy Analyst Profile

Specific Skill Capabilities
1. Able to explain the meaning, formulation process, social policy mechanism and social policy analysis;
2. Able to understand social policy theory, social policy analysis models and formulation of implementation, analysis and evaluation of social policies;
3. Able to formulate social policy problems;
4. Able to apply social policy research methods and social policy analysis techniques;
5. Able to carry out social policy research activities to provide social policy alternatives and recommendations;
6. Able to utilize information technology in conducting social policy analysis;

Knowledge Ability

3. Able to assess problems, potential, and needs at the community level by utilizing the latest technology and information;
4. Able to design plans in overcoming social welfare problems at the community level;
5. Able to present various alternatives for handling social welfare problems at the community level to be able to contribute in making strategic decisions;
6. Able to intervene in social welfare problems at the community level using community social work methods, strategies and techniques;

Knowledge Ability
1. Recognize the positive and negative aspects of self-disclosure;
2. Master basic counseling skills and cross cutting skills;
3. Mastering the stages of change experienced by clients (pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, maintenance, recurrence);

2. Mastering the open system perspective in understanding the existence, behavior of social service organizations, and external factors that affect the existence and behavior of social service organizations;

4. Update references and best practices based on the latest research data (evidence-based practice) in understanding and applying the concepts and approaches of social service organizations, including a critical and in-depth understanding of the management of social service organizations;
